PPP Cadre Supports Prabowo-Gibran, Ganjar Talks About Party Firmness In Control Of Its Members

Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo responded to the declaration of United Development Party (PPP) fighters supporting presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Differences in choice in a party based on individual wishes are a natural thing to happen. If individuals can be called individuals, it can happen from any party because there are also (cadres) from other parties supporting me," said Ganjar when met at Wonogiri City Market, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java on Friday.

According to him, when party leaders are not firm in regulating their members, it will potentially cause split ticket voting or differences in political choices within the party's internal body.

"So, actually in a context like this, when our party does not really control its members, the split ticket will occur and this split ticket occurs with such support models," he said.

Ganjar gave an example, there were cadres from the National Mandate Party (PAN) who gave their support despite threats of dismissal. "So, apparently split tickets will occur with options that are not in accordance with members, individuals will be able to do that," he said.

Therefore, according to him, it is the party's duty to discipline its cadres so that party support for presidential candidate pairs is not divided.
