Ukraine Reveals Alleged Murder Of Three Soldiers Falling In Its Umbrella Arrested In The Battlefield

JAKARTA - A regiment of Ukrainian soldiers revealed on Thursday that three soldiers, who prosecutors said were arrested and shot dead by Russian troops this month, were members of Ukraine's 82nd Cross-Air Strike Brigade.

The Cross-Air Strike Troops Brigade accused unidentified enemy forces of deliberately killing the three people, who they said were clearly violations of war laws and habits.

A video circulating on social media, purportedly containing the incident, depicts three unarmed people fainting after being shot.

Officials said the bodies were taken by Ukrainian troops from near Robotyne Village in the southeastern region of Zaporizhia.

In a video shared about the incident, the Cross-Air Strike Forces highlighted three men with Ukrainian flags and placed the Russian flag next to a figure standing or squatting in two different places behind the Ukrainian.

The video shows the three men kneeling with their hands behind their heads.

At least two figures marked by the Russian flag were seen lifting their weapons and shooting at Ukrainians.

After the gunfire, the three men fell forward. The video then shows a figure, identified as a Russian soldier, approaching and examining the people who fell.

"This is another serious violation of international humanitarian law in the treatment of prisoners of war by the aggressor state," the prosecutor's office said when announcing its investigation on Wednesday, reported The National News December 29.

Earlier on December 3, Ukraine accused Russia of war crimes after another video emerged showing several soldiers shooting two surrendered personnel emerging from the break room.

Separately, Moscow has not responded to these allegations, in which this is the second time Ukrainian prosecutors have charged Russia with the murder of a prisoner of war so far this month.

In a long previous incident in March, a video recording the execution of a Ukrainian soldier who was arrested after he declared "Glory to Ukraine", an expression that symbolizes Ukraine's resistance from the start of the war.
