Xi Jinping's Foreign Political Directives: Promote Global Stability, Gather Majority In The World

JAKARTA - Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the direction and value of foreign politics applied by China as a major country in the future.

"It is very important for China to take responsibility as a big country. We need to advocate for the spirit of independence, fight for peaceful development and promote global stability and prosperity," Xi said in a written statement by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 28.

Xi spoke at the Central Conference on Foreign Politics in Beijing on 27-28 December 2023.

The Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (PKC) briefed members of the Central Committee of the PKC Politburo, leaders of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, members of the Office of Foreign Affairs in various provinces, Chinese diplomats and diplomats abroad, and international organizations.

"With a correct understanding of history and a holistic picture, we must be able to navigate trends, apply coordinated approaches and take initiatives," Xi added.

Xi also revealed various valuable experiences gained in Chinese diplomacy.

"We must take a clear and firm position, adhere to international moral principles and unite and be able to garner the majority of the world's votes," Xi continued.

He said it was very important to enforce basic principles and take new steps.

"We need to follow good traditions and the fundamental directions of Chinese diplomacy and at the same time work progressively to produce innovations both in theory and in practice," Xi said.

"We must reject all political acts of power and intimidation, and with great enthusiasm defend our national interests and dignity. It is very important to take advantage of our institutional strengths," Xi added.

He said all regions and all departments must coordinate with each other to build a strong synergy.

Xi Jinping also presented a systematic review of historical achievements and valuable experiences in the diplomacy of big countries with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
