Jasa Marga Records 1 Million Vehicles Leaving Jabotabek On D-2 Christmas

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that 1,093,363 vehicles had left the Jabotabek area in the period D-7 to D-2 for Christmas 2023. This number increased by more than 26 percent when traffic was normal.

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Lisye Octaviana said the figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four barrier or main toll gates (GT).

The toll gates in question are GT Cikupa (towards Merak), GT Ciawi (towards Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung).

The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 26.30 compared to normal traffic, which was 865,715 vehicles in the same period. When compared to the 2022 Christmas period, the total volume of this traffic increased by 12.87 percent or 968,690 vehicles," he said in an official statement, Sunday, December 24.

Lisye said that for the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards all three directions, the majority were 529,931 vehicles or 48.47 percent headed East (Trans Java and Bandung).

"Then, 314,590 vehicles or 28.77 percent headed for the West (Merak), and 248,842 vehicles or 22.76 percent headed for the South (Puncak)," he said.

Details of the traffic distribution as follows:

East (Trans Java and Bandung) direction

Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 282,559 vehicles. This number increased by 65.13 percent from normal traffic.

Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 247,372 vehicles, an increase of 27.24 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 529,931 vehicles, an increase of 44.98 percent from normal traffic," he said.

West (Merak) direction

Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 314,590 vehicles. This number increased by 10.31 percent from normal traffic.

South (Puncak) direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 248,842 vehicles. This number also increased by 15.74 percent from normal traffic.

Lisye said that on Saturday, December 23, or D-2 for Christmas 2023, the number of vehicles leaving GT Cikatama towards Trans Java was 72,607 vehicles, an increase of up to 127 percent for normal traffic.

Not only GT Cikampek Utama has increased, continued Lisye, on D-2 Christmas Day, a total of 62,187 vehicles left through Kalihurip Utama GT towards Bandung, the total volume of this traffic also increased 49.20 percent against normal traffic.

"The total volume of traffic through the two toll gates has increased to the highest during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays since D-7," said Lisye.
