JAKARTA - The curator of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN), Ridwan Kamil emphasized that the development of IKN is not to ignore Jakarta's problems but to reduce problems in the capital city. According to Ridwan, moving the status of the capital city to Kalimantan is the best solution, as well as providing benefits for Jakarta itself. "By moving to IKN, it doesn't solve 100 percent, but it's like if we are unlucky that we use backpacks, our heavy kilograms have decreased somewhat with the IKN concept even though the heavy burden is still there like a megapolitan city," said Ridwan Kamil at the Media Center Indonesia Maju, Menteng, Jakarta, Friday, December 22. The former governor of West Java admitted that he was asked by President Joko Widodo to be the curator and supervisor of the architecture of buildings at IKN. According to Kang Emil, IKN can help Jakarta overcome congestion, pollution and inequality. "So as not to pollution, there will be no traffic jams? If I propose WFH (work from home) it will be permanent for certain industries. Don't pass COVID-19, we can WFH," he explained. The Golkar politician said that moving the capital city to IKN would be a big idea for Jakarta. Because he said, the Ministry Building may switch to Green Open Space (RTH) or it can be used for other purposes that Jakarta residents can feel. Emil revealed that Rp300 trillion from assets left in Jakarta with a range of Rp1,600 trillion, is ready to be converted as soon as possible. Not only that, he said, the vacant ministry building could also be used as a residence for low-income people (MBR) and vertical housing. However, it must wait for a spatial vision from the Governor of Jakarta first. "Imagine at Monas suddenly becoming pedestrians, yes, the ministry buildings suddenly become green open spaces, museums, reduce the burden", said Emil. "So Jakarta, my point is that it will get a lot of benefits by reducing the burden of moving IKN and also after the assets will be converted into goods," he continued. For this reason, Ridwan Kamil asked all parties to support the development of IKN which the previous leader had long aspired to.
