NUNUKAN - Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) Yonarhanud 8/MBC together with personnel from Kodim 0911 Nunukan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara) thwarted the smuggling of one kilogram of methamphetamine.

The commander of the Pamtas Task Force Yon Arhanud 8/MBC, Lt. Col. Arh Iwan Hermaya, explained that the Narcotics Group I from Malaysia was secured when Pamtas Post officer Aji Kuning Patok PB 02 conducted an examination on the rat roads in the Central Sebatik District.

"At that time, members of the Aji Kuning Patok Post PB 02 saw a suspicious person, then they were examined by members. As a result, a yellow Chinese plastic tea package was found which was suspected of containing one kilogram of methamphetamine," he said, Thursday, December 21.

From the suspect's confession with the initials SY, he entered Malaysia through the Tanah Merah route, then spent the night at a hotel in Tawau.

The perpetrators of SY are residents of Sepaso, Sangatta, East Kutai, East Kalimantan (Kaltim). From the hands of the perpetrators, apart from narcotics weighing 1 kg of methamphetamine, his party also secured 1,696 RM (Ringgit Malaysia and Rp1,047,050.

"The next day I returned to Indonesia via the Pangkalan Patok PB 02 route. The plan was to bring the methamphetamine to Tanjung Selor, Bulungan.

"The perpetrator admitted that he received a salary of methamphetamine in Tawau Malaysia amounting to Rp. 4 million. The nominal wage is promised to increase by Rp. 20 million if it is received in Tanjung Selor. Temporary goods owners are still being developed and have been handed over to the authorities," he concluded.
