2 Kg Of Marijuana Seized From Expeditionary Services, The Perpetrators Are Karanganyar Residents Messages For Wonogiri Prison Prisoners

JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) thwarted the shipment of about 2 kilograms (kg) of marijuana using shipping or expedition services.

Head of the Central Java National Narcotics Agency, Brigadier General Pol Agus Rohmat, said that the marijuana was originally sent with the address for Ploso Village, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java (Central Java).

He explained that the disclosure of this case was based on information about the shipment of marijuana. His party then carried out a control delivery to find out the recipient of the prohibited goods.

From the delivery search, officers secured a man with the initials ADA who was ordering marijuana.

"Then a search was carried out at the suspect's house and a number of cannabis seeds and leaves were found," he said in Semarang, Wednesday, December 20.

He said that based on the suspect's statement, the 2 kg marijuana was an order from one of the inmates of the Wonogiri Penitentiary (Lapas) with the initials ATW.

"There was an ATW order to receive and distribute the marijuana," he said.

According to him, from coordination with Wonogiri prison officers, BNN has secured ATW prisoners for further processing.

The two suspects were subsequently charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.
