Carried By Fishing Fish, Student Dies Drowning In Malang Lahor Dam

Malang - A student from Sumberagung Village RT 2 RW 1, Selorejo District, Blitar Regency named Dery Ivando (14) drowned in the Lahor Dam, Malang, East Java. The victim died after falling because he was attracted to the fish he was fishing for.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 16.00 WIB. Malang Regency BPBD officer Sariyanto when contacted explained that the victim was fishing with two of his friends, namely M Akbar Hamsah (14) and Seltian Andriano (21).

Arriving at the location, the victim was looking for another fishing spot. Namum suddenly, the victim was attracted by the fish he was fishing in until he fell. The victim was helped by his friends, but was released.

"After their hands were released, the victim swam, but couldn't. Other friends even jumped in to look for the victim, but couldn't find him. The victim was declared missing at around 17.00 WIB," he explained, Tuesday, December 19.

After being declared missing, the two friends of the victim reported to the relevant authorities and searched, until finally the body was found at 17.42 WIB.
