Kaesang's Response To Cak Imin Talking To Becak Drivers Can't Enjoy Toll Roads

BANJARNEGARA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep said that his party will continue to strive for equitable development throughout Indonesia through various efforts, one of which is efforts to fight for a critical Indonesia.

"If you say the overall distribution for Indonesia is definitely not. However, we are going there," said Kaesang in Banjarnegara, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 19.

He made this statement in response to comments from the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) from pair number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, about even development that is not only enjoyed by some people, but can be enjoyed by the whole community.

Cak Imin's comment was conveyed after he shared a complaint from a pedicab driver who admitted that he routinely paid taxes, but could not enjoy the toll road because he did not own a car.

Kaesang said that although pedicab drivers cannot enjoy the function of toll road construction directly, toll road construction can facilitate logistics delivery such as foodstuffs so that the logistical needs needed by the community can be met.

"So, it's actually enjoyed too," he said.

Regarding equitable development, Kaesang said that even distribution has not been achieved throughout Indonesia. However, he stressed that the development will continue to be carried out, especially by fighting for the idea of a centris Indonesia.

"We can no longer be Javanese centris. This must be what we are fighting for, namely the Central Indonesia, where development must be evenly distributed throughout Indonesia," he said.

However, Kaesang said the effort did take time considering the vast territory of Indonesia.

"Indonesia is not only one island, but there are indeed many islands. So, it does take longer than other countries," he added.
