During The New Year, TransJakarta Prepares To Add Fleet Up To 25 Percent

JAKARTA - Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) Daud Joseph said he would increase the number of fleet units operating until 02.00 according to the needs in the field on New Year's Eve.

"If the public interest is still large, then we will provide according to our needs in the field. From the previous years, usually the number of fleets that we add can be up to 25 percent of the regularity," Daud said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 19.

He gave an example, referring to data from previous years, in corridor one there were 60 bus units operating with the addition of 15 fleet units until 02.00.

"However, later if there is a need greater than that, then because the buses are always on standby, we will issue the number of buses as needed," he said.

Daud lalu mengatakan pada Tahun Baru biasanya jumlah pelanggan TransJakarta lebih banyaknya sebanyak 16-25 persen dari biasanya. Kalau pada hari Minggu biasanya jumlah penumpang sekitar 650,000 - 670,000, namun saat periode pergantian tahun biasanya akan naik ke angka 750.000 - 800,000 pelanggan.

Referring to this figure, regular fleet units will not be adequate so there needs to be an increase in the number and operating hours.

"Although there is usually TransJakarta night transportation every day, the number will not be adequate if you use the usual fleet, so that later at the turn of the year there will be an increase in the number of units operating until 02.00," said Daud.

Meanwhile, PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Goodyear Indonesia Tbk to conduct training for drivers, mechanics and management of tire management in order to provide transportation services that prioritize security, comfort and sustainability aspects.

"The focus of the MoU and this collaboration is of course we understand that PT Transport Jakarta related to tire management is important, both from the safety, comfort, efficiency and environment aspects," said President Director of PT Transport Jakarta Welfizon Yuza.

Currently, TransJakarta bus units have served more than 1.1 million customers every day and a high distance is said to reduce tire age quickly, thus requiring a comprehensive maintenance and diagnostic system on tires in order to support the efficiency and quality of public transportation services.
