YOGYAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) will hold a debate for the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari revealed the first debate format for the vice presidential candidate. According to Hasyim, the vice presidential debate format is not much different from the vice presidential debate format at the KPU on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

"The venue is planned for JCC Jakarta. As well as what we have participated in together in the first debate, the presidential candidate debate, the debate will be exactly like that, so there are 6 segments," said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU office, Jakarta, Monday (18/12/2023).

Hasyim said the initial segments were the delivery of vision and mission as well as work programs from Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibrang Rakabuming Raka, and Mahfud Md. The second and third segments responded to the problems that had been prepared by panelists.

"After that, the second segment and the third segment will be submitted several problems compiled by the panelist team, and those who will deliver or ask questions, namely the moderator," said Hasyim.

For the fourth and fifth segments, each vice presidential candidate will ask questions asked by other vice presidential candidates.

"And each vice presidential candidate is also given the opportunity to respond to questions raised by each vice presidential candidate (cawapres). Exactly like we are holding the first presidential candidate debate," said Hasyim.

"After that, the last segment, the sixth segment will close the statement or the last statement as a conclusion from each vice presidential candidate about the topic that is used as material for the debate for the vice president candidate," said Hasyim.

Alfito Deannova And Liviana Cherlisa Become Moderators For The Vice Presidential Debate

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has also appointed 2 moderators for the vice presidential debate on Friday, December 22, 2023. The two moderators are Alfito Deannova and Liviana Cherlisa.

"The moderator who will lead or moderate the debate of the vice presidential candidate tomorrow on December 22, the first is Alfito Deannova from Trans Crop. After that the second is Liviana Cherlisa," said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU Office, Central Jakarta, Monday (18/12/2023).

There is also the theme of the debate between the two presidential elections in 2024 which brings together the vice presidential candidates, namely, the economy (the people's economy and the digital economy), finance, tax investment, trade, management of the APBN-APBD, infrastructure, and urban areas.

Not only moderators, the KPU also released 11 names of the first panelists for the vice presidential debate. The panelists will later formulate problems for the three vice presidential candidates, namely Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Mahfud Md.
