Densus 88 Arrest 9 JI Terrorist Suspects In Central Java, Seize 6 Guns Up To Hundreds Of Ammunition

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 9 terrorism suspects in several areas of Central Java, today. The results of their temporary investigation are the Jamaah Islamiyah or JI network.

"There were 9 arrests of the Jamaah Islamiyah terrorism network," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in his statement, Thursday, December 14.

The terrorist suspects who were arrested had the initials WH, SW, TN, SP, SY, HR, MY, SD, and TB. They were arrested in different areas.

"The arrests were carried out in several areas of Central Java including the areas of Sukoharjo, Sragen, Klaten, and Boyolali," he said.

From the arrest, several pieces of evidence were confiscated, with details of 6 short firearms, 10 PCPs or 6 mm and 8 mm caliber gas weapons, 2 arrows, and 246 firearms.

Currently, the Densus 88 Anti-terror team is still investigating and developing the arrests of the terrorist suspects.
