68 Houses In Sukabumi Damaged As A Result Of Being Rocked By A 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 4.6 rocked the Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Thursday morning causing 68 houses to be damaged. "The BNPB Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) reported that the earthquake had an impact on 61 houses in Bogor Regency and seven houses damaged in Sukabumi Regency with details of two moderately damaged houses and five lightly damaged houses," said Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, December 14. Abdul reported that the incident that occurred at 06.35 WIB rocked the Sukabumi Regency area until it was felt that Bogor Regency. BMKG noted that the epicenter was on land 25 kilometers northwest of Sukabumi Regency with a depth of 5 kilometers.

The locations affected by the earthquake in Bogor Regency are Pamijahan, Leuwiliang, Nanggung, and Ciampea Districts. Furthermore, the locations affected by the earthquake in Sukabumi Regency are Kabandungan, Kalapanunggal, Kadudampi, and Cikembar sub-districts. Until now the Sukabumi Regency BPBD and Bogor Regency BPBD have deployed a quick reaction team to the affected locations to carry out further assessments and data collection in the field.
