A$AP Rocky Reveals Rihanna is Working on New Music in the Studio

JAKARTA - A$AP Rocky has leaked news that Rihanna's fans have been waiting for. The singer from Barbados is said to be in the studio and working on new music.

People quoted Thursday, August 6, reported that Rocky conveyed the news in an interview on The Jason Lee Show which was uploaded on Wednesday, August 5.

The 37-year-old rapper denied the notion that he was the reason Rihanna had not released a full album since ANTI in 2016.

Fans have long joked that Rihanna's relationship with Rocky, their growing family, and business commitments have delayed new music.

"No. He's in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, baby," said Rocky.

He then confirmed that Rihanna was really working.

"Bro, he's working. He's working on something, seriously. Damn, I could get in trouble for this," he said.

Rocky's spontaneous words gave new hope to Rihanna's fans who have been waiting for new music for almost a decade.

Rihanna's last album, ANTI, was released in 2016. The album spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 and spawned a number of hit songs, such as "Work", "Needed Me", and "Love on the Brain".

Since then, Rihanna has not released a full album. However, he still returned to the stage several times and released songs for film projects.

In 2023, Rihanna performed in the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII halftime show. She performed a number of popular songs, including "We Found Love", "Diamonds", "Work", and "Umbrella".

The appearance also came under the spotlight after Rihanna revealed that she was pregnant with her second child with Rocky.

Outside of music, Rihanna developed Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty. She and Rocky also have three children, namely RZA who was born in 2022, Riot in 2023, and Rocki in 2025.

Rihanna's latest release is "Friend of Mine" for the 2025 film music The Smurfs.

Previously, he released "Lift Me Up" for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022. The song earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.

The hint about Rihanna's return to the studio actually came before Rocky's comment.

Earlier this year, Rihanna shared a video of her daily activities showing her schedule going to the studio.

"I have to go to the studio after this. Then I have to make a Mardi Gras costume for my son after the studio. It's a really long day," said Rihanna.

In July, Rihanna also performed with Jay-Z in the "Extra Innings" show at Yankee Stadium. They performed "Run This Town" and "Bitch Better Have My Money".
