BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo 2026 Tuntas Held, Proof of Music Festival Boosting Tourism

JAKARTA - The 2026 BRI Jazz Gunung Bromo event officially ended after combining music performances, art exhibitions, to strengthening the local economy in the Bromo area, Probolinggo, East Java.

The series of events which took place for eight days from July 18 to 25 once again proved the role of music festivals as supporters of the tourism ecosystem.

The peak of the event, which was held at the Amfiteater Jiwa Jawa Resort Bromo on July 24 and 25, featured dozens of musicians across generations.

The first day's stage was opened by the performance of Bromo Jazz Camp, Plutato feat. Cait Lin, Bilal Indrajaya, Batavia Collective, as well as the Ring of Fire Project collaboration project with Simone Prattico and Sri Hanuraga.

Isyana Sarasvati closed the first day with a stage concept that was different from usual in the midst of extreme weather - below 10 degrees Celsius.

"This is an experience that I will never forget. We believe that everything we bring on stage from the heart will definitely reach the hearts of all friends," said Isyana after performing.

The excitement continued on the second day through the staging of Littlefingers, Kevin Yosua Big 6 feat. Nesia Ardi, Ali, Simone Prattico Java Collective, to the duo from France, Watchdog.

Indra Lesmana LLW who appeared with Kyriz Boogieman, Eva Celia, and Teza Sumendra were the final performers. They performed eleven popular songs such as "Dirimu Kasih" to "Ekspresi".

On the sidelines of his performance, Indra Lesmana emphasized the importance of maintaining the regeneration of jazz music listeners in Indonesia.

"You have to continue to support. If you have children, bring your children here. Then introduce jazz to them, so that the regeneration is not only in the musicians but also in the connoisseurs," said Indra.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, Bagas Indyatmono, explained that the use of the eight-day event format was a breakthrough that continued to be maintained because it received a positive response from the public.

"This is actually the second year we have held the Bromo Mountain Jazz for more than a week. Last year we tried this format and it turned out to be a breakthrough that can be repeated this year," said Bagas.

Before heading to the peak of the concert, the pre-event series was filled with the Bromo Sunset Festival & Culture at Seruni Point, Stage Photography Workshop, to promotional tours in Jakarta and Malang.

The third year of the Bromo Jazz Camp education program was also held by involving mentors such as Sri Hanuraga, Kevin Yosua, Hansen Arief, Nesia Ardi, and Alfado Jacob to guide young musicians.

The cultural side is strengthened through an art exhibition entitled "BROMOPEDIA: A Landscape of Signs" curated by Dr. Mikke Susanto which features 37 works from 28 artists. From the economic sector, as many as 17 local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary and creative fields were also involved.

Furthermore, the Founder of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, Sigit Pramono, emphasized that the social and economic impact for local residents has been the main pillar of the organization of this event since its inception. "There must be economic drops, we must enrich the community," he said.

For information, this festival consistently maintains its musical identity with a portion of at least 50 to 60 percent of the jazz genre lineup. This effort is aimed at maintaining genre consistency while ensuring the sustainability of the ecosystem of the creative music industry in the country.
