Police Investigate Alleged Malpractice In Cases Of Baby Dies In Jambi Private Hospital

JAMBI - Jambi Regional Police (Polda) investigated the alleged malpractice case at a local hospital for a 16-month-old baby.

Kanit I Subdit IV Tipidter Jambi Police AKP Darma Adi Waluyo said based on the report of the victim's family, the alleged malpractice incident that occurred at a private hospital in Jambi City on September 10, 2023.

From this incident, a 16-month-old baby who is a resident of Pal Merah District, Jambi City, died. The baby's family only made a report to the police on October 24, 2023, with the alleged negligence committed by medical personnel at the hospital at that time.

He explained that based on the information from the reporting party, the incident came when the baby with the initials AR was treated at the hospital. The baby had heat and convulsions, then the nurse put a tube into the baby's mouth to take mucus, but it turned out that there was blood coming out. Not long after that the baby died.

"We have followed up on the report," he said.

The Jambi Regional Police, he said, had clarified the witnesses from the victim's side and sent invitations to the hospital to clarify.

His party has twice sent a letter to the hospital in question, but the hospital has not complied with the request of the Jambi Police for clarification.

Furthermore, the police will go to the hospital to clarify directly with the nurses and doctors who treated AR's baby at that time.

The police also coordinated with the local health office regarding the follow-up to this incident.

Currently, the alleged malpractice case that occurred is still in the process of being investigated by the Jambi Police Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter, but if the hospital still does not provide clarification to the police, the status of this case will go up to the investigation stage.
