3,326 Joint Personnel Alerted To Secure Christmas And New Year Celebrations In Lampung

BANDARLAMPUNG - Lampung Regional Police (Polda) said 3,326 joint personnel were ready to secure the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebrations.

"The number of personnel as many as 3,326 consists of 1,830 police officers plus the TNI, as well as local governments and stakeholders related to 1,496 personnel will be prepared in the 2023 Krakatau Candle Operation," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Umi Fadilah Astutik, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 13.

He also said that in a security effort on Christmas and New Year's Day, security forces will establish Pam posts and service posts (posyans), as well as integrated posts.

"So in the 2023 Krakatau Candle Ops there will be 44 Pam and 21 Posyan posts, and 1 integrated post located at Bakauheni Port, South Lampung," he said.

Kombes Pol Umi said that the posts would be established at crowded points such as churches, tourist attractions, New Year's Eve turn objects, shopping centers and hotels.

"When welcoming Christmas and New Year, the Lampung Police will prepare service posts and security in the Lampung area which functions to provide a sense of security and comfort for the community," he said.

Umi also appealed to people who will carry out Christmas and New Year's services by traveling long distances to re-check the condition of their vehicles and their physicalities so that they can be safe and smooth on the way.

"It is hoped that to prepare well for the condition of the vehicle and also physically, if you feel tired, please rest at the posts that are already available," he said.
