In The Eyes Of Young People, Prabowo Is Considered The Most Able To Act Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - The pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, are considered by young people to be most capable of enforcing the law in Indonesia when compared to other contestants in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

The Coordinator of the National Campaign Team (TKN) for Young Voters (Fanta) of the Legal Cluster, Andi Ryza Fardiansyah, said the assessment was because Prabowo was the general chairman of the party. As chairman of the party, of course Prabowo is in full control of his party's political policies and lack of intervention.

"If we talk about law enforcement, bureaucratic reform, the ones who can guarantee the law to be upright are the people with the least chance of intervention," Andi said at the "Kongko Fanta Law Ahead of the Presidential Election Debate: Law, Human Rights, Corruption and Terrorism" which was held at the TKN Fanta headquarters, Jakarta, quoted Tuesday, December 12.

Similarly, the candidate for the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Orco Olfriady Letunggamu, said that law enforcement is closely related to the process of making laws in the DPR. As the general chairman of the parliament who oversees the factions in the DPR, Osco said that Prabowo has complete authority to oversee so that law enforcement can run on the track.

"Pak Prabowo is the only presidential candidate who is also the general chairman. He is not a party official. If he becomes president, then he can guarantee law enforcement. Because the legal product is discussed in the legislature. There is a faction that is a representative of the party. Who is the boss of the faction, yes the chairman," said Orco.

As a representative of young people, Osco is determined to place support for an independent and not easily intervened presidential candidate by the surrounding forces, one of which is from a political party. Because, when appointed as President, someone is no longer a party servant, but rather a servant of the people. "We want a presidential candidate who can guarantee law enforcement. I believe Pak Prabowo is a big party chairman who does not have room to intervene," he said.

Meanwhile, academic Muhammad Rizal Rustam said that young people have a big role in overseeing the law enforcement process in the country. This can be seen in the phenomenon of the 'ttag war' in the social media era in guarding a number of legal issues, one of which is the revision of the KPK Law.

According to him, there is a phenomenon of youth distrust of the performance of law enforcement officers. As a solution, Prabowo-Gibran offers high salaries for law enforcement officials to work professionally and not corruption.

"This must be seen from a legal perspective, there is a distrust of young people towards law enforcement officials. And I see there is hope in Pak Prabowo," said Rizal.
