Claiming To Be Intimidated, Buted Kartaredjasa Was Complained To The Criminal Investigation Department

JAKARTA - Butet Artist Kartaredjasa was complained about the alleged spread of fake news or hoaxes to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

The complaint follows Butet's statement about intimidation from the police when he was about to hold an art show with the theme 'Musuh Bebuyutan' at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) on Friday, December 1.

The Lingkar Nusantara Advocate Community or Lisan is the party that complained about Butet.

"So basically our report has two underlying things, one that Pak Butet conveyed in the media and there were also several viral videos, the person concerned conveyed intimidation from the police in terms of holding a stage," said Deputy Chairman of Lisan, Ahmad Fatoni to reporters quoted on Saturday, December 9.

However, based on the results of the clarifications made, said Fatoni, different facts were found. The committee stated that there had never been any intimidation.

"There was no intimidation from the police against the event, especially Pak Butet," he said.

On the other hand, it is also mentioned the reasons behind the complaints made. According to him, this can be a lesson for the whole community in their opinion.

In addition, it was also emphasized that the complaints made were not related to any political elements.

"So we see that we have to report this, so that it becomes a lesson for anyone in expressing opinions. So that's all, there's no political content or anything else," said Fatoni.

Previously, the theater scriptwriter, Agus Noor, and the artist, Butet Kartaredjasa, felt intimidated by the police when holding a performance at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) on Friday, December 1. Meanwhile, the art performance which was held had the theme 'Musuh Bebuyutan'.

The form of intimidation they feel is that the police signed the organizers. Then, ask to make a statement.

However, Polda Metro Jaya and the organizers stated that there was no intimidation regarding the art performance with the theme 'Musuh Bebuyutan'.

The Secretariat of Kayan Production, Indah, emphasized that as the party that takes care of licensing, there is no form of intimidation in the process.

"I just want to convey that I did the processing related to licensing letters to the police. Then there was no intimidation in the signing of the letter," said Indah.
