MAGELANG - At least 10 villages on the slopes of Mount Merapi in the Magelang Regency, Central Java, were affected by ash rain following the occurrence of hot clouds falling on Mount Merapi. Head of BPBD Magelang Regency Edi Wasono said that today there were hot clouds falling on Mount Merapi. The light ash rain accompanied by rain occurred in 10 villages in the Dukun and Sawangan sub-districts, Magelang Regency. Areas in Magelang Regency where volcanic ash rains were caused by the hot clouds falling from Mount Merapi on December 8, 2023 at 14:46 WIB. "Update until 16.15 WIB, there are ten villages in Dukun and Sawangan sub-districts," he said in Magelang, Antara, Friday, December 8. In Dukun District, light ash rain occurred seven villages including Mangunsoko, Krinjing, Sengi, Paten, Sewikan, Banyudono and Sumber villages. Then in Sawangan District, it occurred in Krogowanan, Kapuhan and Bontang villages. "On average, light ash rain is accompanied by rainwater," he said.
