Cak Imin Is Sad That There Are Still Masrasah Teachers Who Are Not Paid

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president (cawapres) number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) highlighted the low salary of religious education teachers. In fact, Cak Imin received complaints that there were still madrasah teachers who did not receive salaries.

"Many religious teachers, madrasas, do not get income at all. Some have a salary of only Rp. 20,000 a month," said Cak Imin while campaigning at Tanjung Pura, Langkat, North Sumatra, Thursday, December 8.

In fact, according to the General Chairperson of the PKB, the government has sufficient state budget in the education sector. It's just that the priority of implementing the budget for education programs is scattered in a number of ministries or institutions.

Therefore, Cak Imin promised that he and his presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan would increase the welfare of teachers if they won the 2024 presidential election.

"God willing, under the leadership of Anies-Muhaimin, the welfare of teachers will increase, including our religious teachers. For what reason? Our religious teachers have formed the mentality and morals of the nation's generation," said Cak Imin.

"We collect again, recount, and I'm sure it's enough to handle various teachers who really miss their welfare," he continued.

The promise to improve the welfare of teachers, Cak Imin's claim, is not just a hoax. Because, Anies is a figure with a background in the profession of teachers, lecturers, and the benefit of the Minister of Education and Culture. Meanwhile, Cak Imin is also a graduate of religious education.

"Mas Anies and I happen to be educated in Islamic boarding schools, being part of the pesantren struggle. Both have backgrounds that are the responsibility of both of us. God willing, once we are inaugurated, the struggle for education to give birth to superior humans compared to other nations will soon be realized properly," he concluded.
