Commander: TNI Ready To Help Logistics Distribution To Security Of Elections In Papua

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto stated that his party is ready to help distribute logistics for the 2024 General Election in Papua. The TNI will assist in the distribution of logistics to security at polling stations (TPS) in collaboration with the National Police, Bawaslu and KPU in the area. "We have just witnessed the peace declaration of the 2024 General Election which was declared a representative of elements of society in the Land of Papua," said General Agus Subiyanto in Jayapura, Papua, Antara, Friday, December 8 evening. According to Agus, with the peace declaration, it is hoped that the 2024 General Election in Papua will run peacefully and safely. When asked about a number of areas in Papua that are prone to disturbances by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), the TNI Commander stated that his party continued to prioritize a soft approach through territorial operations. He said that through territorial operations, it is hoped that development in Papua will accelerate considering that this area is given a very high budget but there is still a social gap in society. The Commander emphasized that the presence of the TNI in Papua is to assist government programs aimed at improving the welfare of the community. "The TNI will collaborate with other agencies such as the National Police and other ministries and agencies to handle this," said TNI General Agus Subiyanto accompanied by National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Previously, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief held a meeting with members of the TNI-Polri which was centered at the XVII Cenderawasih Makodam in Polimak, Jayapura City.
