Constitutional Court Judge Ridwan Mansyur Ensures Preparedness For The 2024 Election Lawsuit

JAKARTA - Constitutional Court (MK) Judge Ridwan Mansyur has made the 2024 election the main focus of work that needs to be finalized in dealing with potential lawsuits that come from the public.

Ridwan Mansyur made this statement after being inaugurated as a Constitutional Court Judge by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Friday, December 8.

"In the near future we will have a big celebration, elections, regional elections, legislative elections, that will make us more busy than usual," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

He said there are three stages of the 2024 General Election that need to be prepared starting from a series of events that occurred before the election, during the election, and after the election such as counting votes.

The steps taken by the Constitutional Court in dealing with this situation, said Ridwan, rely on strategies learned from the previous election experience.

"We study this, so that we prepare the assembly, also prepare the venue for the trial, hopefully in the not too distant future it can be completed, so that we can hold a trial and be able to accept the arrival of the community, the public, and the parties better," he said.

According to him, the era of massive developmental information technology in Indonesia allows the public to actively participate in supervising the course of the election.

"The information technology era is all very easy to open and also extraordinary public participation, meaning they love our court, they have our court, hopefully with that we can produce the best decision to fulfill a sense of justice," he said.

Ridwan also said that the reports submitted by the public must meet a number of criteria for requirements so that they can be accepted by the panel of judges.

"As long as the lawsuit meets the requirements, we must not reject the case, but there are stages whether the case filed has met the requirements to be tried and examined and decided by the panel of judges," he said.
