Prabowo Subianto Hopes That The Ministry Of Defense-TNI's Financial Report Can Be Predicate WTP

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto hopes that the 2020 Ministry of Defense and TNI's financial reports can maintain the title of unqualified opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"The results of activities during 2020 which are faced with 'refocusing' and budget reallocation, can be presented in transparent and accountable financial reports, so as to improve the quality of the Ministry of Defense and TNI's financial reports in 2020," said Defense Minister Prabowo at the Ministry of Defense, reported by Antara, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 17th.

Prabowo said this while leading the entry meeting (initial taklimat) to carry out the examination of the 2020 Ministry of Defense's financial reports at the Ministry of Defense's Organizational Unit (UO), TNI Headquarters, Indonesian Army, Navy, and Air Force by BPK RI.

In the event, Member I of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) I Hendra Susanto submitted a letter of assignment and the BPK RI audit report (LHK) to Minister of Defense Prabowo.

The former Danjen Kopassus also emphasized the Kasatker / Kasubsatker in the UO Ministry of Defense, TNI Headquarters, TNI AD, Navy and Air Force, to prepare data and documents needed by the BPK RI Examination Team.

"So, the examination team can judge that the Ministry of Defense / TNI institutions have met the criteria for compiling financial reports," Prabowo said in his press release.

In accordance with the mandate of Law No. 15 of 2006, BPK RI is tasked with conducting an examination of all financial reports of Ministries / Institutions including the financial reports of the Ministry of Defense / TNI.

The purpose of this examination is to see the extent to which financial statements are prepared in the face of four criteria, namely, conformity with government accounting standards (SAP), adequacy of disclosure, compliance with laws and regulations, and the internal control system.

After implementing the entry meeting, the BPK RI Examination Team will continue its inspection activities until 27 May 2021 in each organizational unit.

Meanwhile, Member I of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) / Head of State Financial Audit I Hendra Susanto in his remarks explained that the initial meeting or entry meeting is a form of communication between the examiner and the entity in order to create a common perception to support the smooth implementation of the audit of financial reporting.
