JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Eddy Omar Sharif Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej will undergo an examination at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Thursday 7 December. Eddy Hiariej will undergo an examination with his status as a suspect. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said that the KPK investigating team would conduct an examination of the suspects on the alleged flow of money related to administrative management at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. "It is true that the information we received from the investigative team this week, on Thursday. We summoned the parties as suspects including the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights to be present at the KPK's Red and White building in their capacity as suspects," said Ali Fikri in his statement, Thursday, December 7. Ali informed that the summons of the Deputy Minister of Law and other suspects had been sent by the KPK investigator team. He hopes that the suspects can cooperate in fulfilling the summons. "We hope that these suspects can be present to fulfill the summons from the KPK investigating team. All in the legal certainty of the handling of the case in question, "added Ali Fikri. Previously, on Monday, Eddy Hiariej had undergone examination as a witness for the case files of other suspects. In this case, the KPK has also named another suspect, namely two people close to Deputy Minister of Law Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej.

The two close people are Yogi Arie Rukmana and Yosi Andika Mulyadi and Ex-Director of PT Citra Lampia Mandiri (CLM Mining) Helmut Hermawan. Ali Fikri did not explain whether Eddy Hiariej would be immediately detained or not. Ali Fikri explained that the detention of the suspects was under the authority of the investigative team.

"Of course there are subjective requirements, objective requirements and if needed in the investigation process. Once again, there have never been suspects from the KPK who were not detained, but all of them need time for investigation processes," said Ali Fikri. In this case, the KPK investigating team detected allegations of bribery and gratuities related to the management of PT CLM's legal status at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Eddy is suspected of receiving Rp 7 billion.
