KPU Targets Technical Debate For 2024 Presidential Election To Be Completed Tomorrow

The General Elections Commission (KPU) targets technical discussions on the implementation of the 2024 presidential election debate to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said his party had communicated to the winning team of each candidate pair (paslon) to attend the meeting.

"The planned follow-up meeting tomorrow (December 6, 2023)," said Hasyim in a short message to reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 5, was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the meeting would be held during the day and held at the KPU office located at Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

He further said the meeting would discuss in more detail some technical matters regarding the implementation of the debate later.

"Bahas format debate, debate theme, panelist, and moderator," said Hasyim.

On Wednesday, December 29, the KPU has decided that all debate activities will be broadcast live on a number of national television (TV) and other electronic media channels.

The implementation of the first and second debates on December 12 and 22 to close at the end of 2023, then continued on January 7 and 21, and finally on February 4, 2024.

The first debate will take the theme related to law, human rights (HAM), government, eradication of corruption, and strengthening democracy.

The implementation was also carried out at the Indonesian KPU Building, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Jakarta.

On Monday, November 13, the KPU has appointed three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates to participate in the 2024 presidential election.

The results of the draw and determination of the number of participants in the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, November 14, determined the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024. Then, the voting schedule on February 14, 2024.
