Death Rate Due To Traffic Accident Reaches 24 Thousand People For 1 Year

JAKARTA - The number of victims of traffic accidents has reached third in Indonesia after the victims died from HIV/Aids and tuberculosis. Moreover, the high mortality rate due to accidents is still a scourge that has not been resolved by the Korlantas Polri.

"We need to encourage the retrospect of victims of accidents from us, families, the environment to all the people. So that the entire community can be informed about the severity (the number) of victims of this accident," said Acting Head of Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Aan Suhanan to reporters, Tuesday, December 5.

Brigadier General Aan said the bad impact of accident victims could make women become widows if their husbands were involved in an accident to death, and their children became orphans.

Due to traffic accidents, it can also cause people to lose their jobs if they are seriously injured. A number of these adverse effects can be avoided by anticipating yourself when driving a vehicle or riding a vehicle.

"As a result, how many widows can make how many orphans, can lose their jobs due to this traffic accident," he said.

During 2023, the number of accident victims to death was recorded at 24 thousand people.

"There are 24 thousand victims who died this year," he added.
