Anies Promises To Overcome Seasonal Floods In South Kalimantan

BANJARMASIN - Presidential candidate (candidate) number 1 Anies Baswedan promised to overcome the seasonal flood problem in South Kalimantan if he won the presidential election in the 2024 election.

"I saw how troubled the lives of the people of South Kalimantan were when the flash floods arrived," Anies said in front of thousands of volunteers and sympathizers while campaigning in Banjarmasin City as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 5.

Anies said the seasonal flash flood was due to economic activity that damaged the environment.

"The restoration of the damaged environment is my goal to come to South Kalimantan," he said.

According to Anies, economic activity in South Kalimantan needs to be changed to keep Kalimantan Island in the lungs of the world.

In addition, he said, economic activities in South Kalimantan have carried out a lot of deforestation, this is the main cause of seasonal flash floods arriving when the intensity of the rain is very heavy.

According to Anies, so far the people of South Kalimantan have paid very expensive costs for the impact of environmental damage such as flash floods and other disasters.

He promised to carry out this mandate if elected in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, without an authority, Anies continued, it would be impossible for him to make changes to the environment in South Kalimantan.

The largest economic activity in South Kalimantan is the coal mining sector which has contributed 30 percent of revenue to the government from a total of 100 percent of all income sectors in the local province.

In front of thousands of volunteers and sympathizers, Anies together with the winning team conveyed the main work program that will be run in South Kalimantan if they win the presidential election in the 2024 General Election.
