Lampung Regional Police are investigating allegations of bullying leading to immoral acts against a student of a private high school (SMA) in Bandarlampung City. The video of bullying is widely spread in the community.
"We have obtained the video of bullying that led to immorality and the report has also been received by the Bandarlampung Police Satreskrim," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Umi Fadilah Astutik, to reporters at the Lampung Police Headquarters, Antara, Tuesday, December 5.
Umi said the alleged immoral video had been circulating since last weekend. The video shows a high school student allegedly being forced to act outside the norms by his colleagues.
"The family of this student with the initials MA did not accept it when they learned of the video, then reported it to the Bandarlampung Police," he said.
Kombes Umi said members of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Bandarlampung Police Satreskrim and Sub-Directorate IV of the Lampung Police Renakta had traced the video.
"From the search results, the police have received information from several parties, including six female classmates," he said.
Kombes Umi added that the police had visited the student's residence, but for the time being the person concerned could not be questioned.
He said the police were very careful in handling the bullying case because the parties suspected of being involved were still children.
"Both the complainant and the reported are still children, so legal protection rights need to be considered," said Umi.
