KPK Plans To Summon Again Suspects In The Wamenkumham Case This Week

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to summon suspects in the bribery and gratuity case that ensnared Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej this week.

It is known that the KPK has summoned Eddy's personal assistant, namely Yogi Arie Rukmana and Yosi Andika Mulyadi today as suspects. However, both of them were not detained because investigators still needed time.

"This week we also immediately summoned another party as a suspect in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to be present at the KPK's Red and White Building," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 5.

Ali has not yet specified who other parties will be summoned. However, he asked whoever the suspect summoned in this case was cooperative to be present before investigators.

"We really hope that these parties are cooperative in attending to the summons from the KPK investigating team to carry out an examination in order of course there is legal certainty and we are committed to immediately resolving the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK had examined Eddy Hiariej on Monday, December 4 as a witness for other suspects. He was examined for seven hours by the anti-corruption commission investigators but he did not convey anything.

In this case, Eddy has been named a suspect along with three other people. He is suspected of receiving gratuities and bribes.

The KPK revealed that the form of gratification was allegedly in the form of receiving a sum of money related to the consultation and assistance for the ratification of a company's legal entity. The determination of the suspect based on an investigation warrant (sprindik) has been signed since two weeks ago.

The KPK has also sent a letter to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the determination of Eddy Hiariej as a suspect. The letter was received by the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg) on Friday, December 1.

To investigate this case, the KPK has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to prevent four people from leaving the country. Apart from Eddy, those prevented were Yosi Andika Mulyadi and Yogi Arie Rukmana who were his personal assistants. Meanwhile, one private party is the President Director of PT Citra Lampia Mandiri Helmut Hermawan.
