DPR Agrees On 7 Names Of Members Of The Supervision Agency For Deposit Insurance Corporations

JAKARTA - The DPR has agreed on seven names to be elected as candidates for the Supervision Agency for the Deposit Insurance Corporation (BS LPS).

"Seven selected candidates for BS LPS members consist of Farid Azhar Nasution, AP Timo Pangerang, Agung Ardhianto, Suhaji Lestiadi, Eko Kusnadi, Tauhid Ahmad, and Peni Hirjanto," said Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR Amir Uskara at the DPR Plenary Meeting, Tuesday, December 5, confiscated by Antara.

Commission XI of the DPR has carried out a series of activities to elect candidates for BS LPS members for the 2023-2028 period.

First, the internal meeting of Commission XI on September 25, 2023, approved the number of members of BS LPS as many as seven people. Second, Commission XI opened registration for prospective members of BS LPS during the period 10-20 November 2023 which was announced in the national print media.

Third, on November 15, 2023, the leadership of the DPR RI sent a letter to the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) as the Coordinator of the Financial System Stability Committee regarding the request for the name of a candidate for BS LPS member from the government element. On November 20, 2023, the leadership of the DPR RI received a letter from the Minister of Finance regarding the submission of candidates for BS LPS members from government elements.

"On November 22, 2023, Commission XI of the DPR RI held an internal meeting in order to verify the candidates for BS LPS members by the selection committee of Commission XI of the DPR RI for 46 candidates for BS LPS members and approved 38 names of BS LPS candidates to be continued in the fit and proper test," he said.

Furthermore, on November 22, 2023, the leadership of the DPR sent a letter to the Minister of Finance regarding the request for additional names of candidates for BS LPS members from government elements which was then replied by the Minister of Finance on November 27, 2023 regarding the submission of proposals for BS LPS members from government elements.

"On 27-28 November 2023, Commission XI of the DPR RI held a meeting with general opinion in the context of a fit and proper test of 40 candidates for BS LPS members, of which two names of candidates were proposed by the government. The process of selecting candidates for BS LPS members at Commission XI ended with decision making in an internal meeting of Commission XI on November 28 and sent by deliberation for consensus, (so it was agreed on 7 members of BP LPS)," said Amir.
