Is The Death Of Artist Nanie Darham Included In The Malpractice Category? South Jakarta Police Can't Answer

JAKARTA - The police will coordinate with the Indonesian Medical Disciplinary Honorary Council (MKDKI) regarding the case of the death of Film Star Nanie Darham to determine whether the cause of death was Malpractice.

"So according to the mandate of the latest law, we will try to ask for suggestions, input, whether this is included in a malpractice crime or what," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Bintoro when confirmed, Tuesday, December 5.

When asked further regarding coordination with the MKDKI, Bintoro could not explain. He asked for time so that this case could be fully revealed.

"Later, that's not the MKDKI yet," he said

Meanwhile, regarding the follow-up to this case, his party has also examined several witnesses. In addition, he is also waiting for the results of the autopsy from the victim Nanie Darham.

"Maybe these weeks, we will ask for the autopsy results, and God willing, it will come out," he concluded.

As is known, Nanie Darham, the star of the Bridal Waterfall film, conducted a fat suction operation at a clinic in the North Cipete area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, and was suspected of having experienced malpractice that led to death.

"We have examined several documents related to the documents related to the operation," said Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Henrikus Yossi, on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

Currently, investigators have examined 11 witnesses, both from the clinic and the doctors who at that time participated in the operation.

In addition, examinations were also carried out on several nurses in the clinic, both those directly involved in operating activities and those who received victim registration.

"We have also examined the families of the victims. Furthermore, we will conduct an examination of medical personnel from the ambulance who at the time of the incident provided assistance and took the victim to the hospital," he said.
