AMBON - Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Lotharia Latif made dishonorable dismissals (PTDH) to 12 members of the National Police who served at the Maluku Regional Police and Polres/ta ranks.
This was done in the PTDH ceremony which was led directly by the Kapolda, which took place at the Lt. Col. Pol Chr Phaseary field, Ambon City.
"Today we are carrying out the ceremony for dishonorable dismissal from the National Police to three Maluku Police personnel consisting of one personnel with the rank of first officer, and two personnel with the rank of non-commissioned officer," Lotharia said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 4.
The three Maluku Regional Police personnel who were officially fired were Iptu Thomas Keliombar, Pama Polda Maluku, Brigpol Herson, non-commissioned officer of the Maluku Regional Police, and Brigpol Egi Prayitno, non-commissioned officer of the Maluku Regional Police and several members of the Maluku Regional Police.
Since January - September 2023, 12 members of the National Police have been dishonorably dismissed. The 12 personnel who have been fired consist of 3 members of the Maluku Regional Police and 9 others came from the Polres/ta ranks.
He said, when compared to 2022 as many as 25 members of the Maluku Regional Police who were fired, in 2023 there was a 50 percent decrease.
However, the Kapolda still regrets and regrets that this must happen, because the cases and serious violations committed by these members had to be dishonorably dismissed.
"This is still our common concern and it is very difficult for me personally as the Kapolda and Polri institutions to have to take the last step in the form of PTDH," he said.
According to him, PTDH's steps are the last resort after various processes of coaching, prevention, and even light to severe punishments have been carried out.
The National Police, continued the Kapolda, is a large organization that serves and protects the community, and enforces the law. Every personnel must be based on a strong work ethic and discipline.
"The National Police is law enforcement and we should be ashamed if we violate the law, because we ourselves are consciously and without coercion in choosing the path of service and profession within the Indonesian National Police," he said.
