PAN Usung Khofifah Maju In The 2024 East Java Gubernatorial Election

SURABAYA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas stated that his party carried the name Khofifah Indar Parawansa to run in the 2024 East Java Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

This was conveyed by Zulhas when opening a consolidation event which was attended by all PAN legislative candidates throughout East Java in Surabaya, Monday afternoon.

"I was present in East Java, advised Mrs. Khofifah to attend because she wanted to announce the candidate for governor from PAN and I have brought the recommendation, it is Mrs. Khofifah," Zulhas said in a speech reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 4.

In fact, on that occasion Zulhas also directly submitted a letter of recommendation to Khofifah.

Zulhas explained the reason for giving the recommendation was because he saw Khofifah's actions while leading East Java.

"Alhamdullah, mothers are given the mandate to lead and East Java is moving forward," he said.

He is also optimistic that Khofifah can win the 2024 East Java Pilkada constellation, so that she can continue development performance in the local area.

"Bu Khofifahinsya Allah won again," said the trade minister.

The announcement of the recommendation was greeted with loud applause from all PAN cadres who attended the consolidation event.

Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa admitted that he was surprised by the PAN's decision to take him into the Pilkada next year.

Because, when he received an invitation to attend the agenda, he did not receive any information about the recommendation, his position was only present as an invited guest.

"I was surprised because there was no prior information regarding the submission of recommendations for the governor election," he said when he was about to leave the event location.

He thanked all ranks of PAN for providing full trust and support.

"Of course, I thank and appreciate PAN for starting the provision of support for next year," he said.
