Doni Monardo Remembered By Environmental Fighters, Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture: Airport In Indonesia Planted By The Late Trambesi

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Doni Monardo was a person who cared about environmental conservation throughout his career.

"The deceased does not only pursue the military world, but is also known to be very active in the environment," said Muhadjir Effendy while visiting the funeral home in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten, Monday, December 4.

Doni Monardo's concern for environmental issues began to be considered by Muhajir since the deceased served as Commander of Group A of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres).

Muhadjir, who was then on duty at the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg), witnessed Doni Monardo's active involvement in the reforestation program at various airport facilities in Indonesia.

"We know almost all of them at airports in the country, there are hands of the deceased planting tremors there - reforestation," he said.

In addition, said Muhadjir, Doni Monardo also played an active role in the Citarum River rehabilitation program when the deceased served as Pangdam Siliwangi.

"So we really know the deceased as a figure who cares about the environment, in addition to a figure who pursues the military world. He has a good career in the military," he said.

Muhadjir said, Doni Monardo also worked very diligently when he became the head of BNPB, especially in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters in various regions.

"I had a call, I knew he hadn't come home for 3 months, slept in the office when COVID-19 happened," he said.

On that occasion, Muhadjir expressed his condolences and felt the loss of one of the nation's best figures who contributed a lot to the nation.

"So his dedication to the nation is extraordinary. We pray that the deceased will be placed in a noble place with Allah SWR, accepted by all his deeds of worship, and forgiven for all his mistakes, and hopefully the bereaved family can be steadfast in facing this," he said.
