National Team Amin Promises To Filter Officials To Prevent Impunity

JAKARTA - The National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (Timnas AMIN) stated that it would screen out officials who would sit in important positions to avoid impunity in cases of human rights violations.

Anggota Bidang Research dan Kajian Timnas AMIN Anang Zubaidy menegaskan bahwa hal tersebut merupakan komitmen pasangan Anies-Muhaimin untuk bisa menegakkan keadilan tanpa adanya konflik kepentingan.

"Because after all, when they are already involved in a situation where a conflict of interest arises, it will be difficult," said Anang during the Discussion and Launch of the Human Rights Agenda conducted by Amnesty Internasional in Jakarta, Saturday.

Anang claims Anies-Muhaimin is the poorest presidential-vice presidential candidate pair among other pairs. Therefore, according to him, the volunteers in his team are the people who have been screened.

"Because our vision and commitment is justice for all, including in the context of access to justice," he said.

Meanwhile, constitutional law expert Bivitri Susanti assessed that the impunity related to past gross human rights violations in Indonesia could not be completed because the violators entered the government.

He also wants the presidential and vice-presidential candidates not only to promise to solve past human rights problems, but also to be truly committed and explain how to do it.

"Violators of gross human rights are not only at the top of the leadership, but who is there, there is uncle, or something else. That is called a conflict of interest," said Bivitri.

Based on the records of non-government organizations, namely Amnesty International Indonesia, from 2019 to 2023 there were 504 people who were victims of criminalization of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE). Most of them occurred in 2020 with as many as 176 victims. The AMIN national team has the certificate to improve this record
