The KPK Council Has Examined 30 People Regarding The Alleged Ethics Of The Firli-SYL Meeting

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate alleged ethical violations of the meeting between the inactive KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Dozens of people have been questioned to prove the violation.

"A total of more than 30 witnesses have been (examined by the KPK Council, ed)," said KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris to reporters quoted on Saturday, December 2.

Syamsuddin said a number of witnesses who had been examined, including the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman to businessmen at nightclubs, Alex Tirta.

Alex Tirta was questioned by the KPK Supervisory Board because he rented out a house on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46, South Jakarta to Firli Bahuri. The inspection was carried out on Monday, November 27 online.

"Because he is out of town for a long time, so the KPK Council is just zooming in on him," he said.

Furthermore, Syamsuddin said Firli's fate would soon be determined. "Yes, hopefully (next week, red)," he said.

Reports of alleged ethical violations of the Firli and Syahrul meeting were submitted by the Law Concerned Student Committee on Friday, October 6. Three leaders of the anti-corruption commission, namely Nurul Ghufron, Johanis Tanak, and Alexander Marwata, have been investigated to investigate Firli's actions.

Meanwhile, KPK Deputy Chair Nawawi Pomolango could not provide information because he was sick.

"In general, related to allegations of extortion and clarification related to photos, that's all the questions. Regarding extortion, I don't know what happened," said Alex after being questioned by the KPK Council at the ACLC Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Monday, October 30.

Firli has also undergone an examination by the KPK Council some time ago. He admitted that he had explained the case of his meeting with Syahrul, which allegedly ended in an attempted extortion related to a corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture.
