Pius Lustrilanang Responds To KPK's Call Regarding The Sorong Regent's Acting Bribery Case Today

JAKARTA - Member VI of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Pius Lustrilanang fulfilled the summons of investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today. He was examined as a witness in the alleged bribery of controlling the findings of the BPK examination in Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua.

"Witnesses are currently present," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, December 1.

Ali has not yet detailed the matter of the investigation that will be asked by investigators. However, he is suspected of knowing about the alleged bribery that ensnared the Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso.

"Immediately an examination will be carried out by the investigative team," he said.

Pius will actually be questioned on Monday, November 27. However, he was not present because he was sick and asked for a reschedule.

He was then rescheduled by investigators on Thursday, November 30. However, Pius confirmed that he would be present the day after.

Previously reported, the KPK searched Pius' office on Wednesday, November 15. From this forced effort, a number of evidences related to the alleged bribery being investigated, such as documents to financial records

This search occurred after the KPK conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Sunday night, November 12 in Sorong Regency. From this activity, the KPK appointed Acting Regent Sorong Yan Piet Mosso along with five other people as suspects in alleged bribery in conditioning the findings of the BPK examination of Southwest Papua Province in Sorong Regency.

The other five are the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Sorong Regency, Efer Segidifat; BPKAD staff of Sorong Regency Manuel Syatfle; Head of BPK Representative for Southwest Papua Province Patrice Lumumba Sihombing; Head of Subaud BPK of Southwest Papua Province Abu Hanifa; and Head of the Audit Team David Patasaung.

The KPK received initial findings that Yan gave money to his subordinates to be handed over to the Southwest Papua Province BPK amounting to Rp940 million. In addition, there was also the provision of a luxury Rolex branded watch.

Meanwhile, Patrice, who is the Head of BPK Representative for Papua Province, along with two of his subordinates, received Rp1.8 billion.
