Dozens Of Houses In Malang Damaged By Heavy Rain And Strong Winds

Malang Regency's Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded dozens of houses and a number of public facilities were damaged due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred in the area. "The incident occurred at approximately 14.00 - 15.00 WIB," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Malang Regency BPBD, Sadono Irawan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30. The buildings that suffered the damage were in three sub-districts. In Jabung District, for example as many as 28 houses were damaged with details of 14 houses in Sukolilo Village, six houses in Kemantren Village, and six houses in Jabung Village. In addition, two schools and roofs of the Jabung Health Center were damaged. Then in Singosari District, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds at 14.00 WIB caused damage to dozens of houses in the Candirenggo Village, Dengkol Village, Gunungrejo Village, and Banjararum Village. "In Singosari District there are four affected points," he said.

In Candirenggo Village, it was recorded that 13 houses were damaged, Dengkol Village, three houses were damaged, Gunungrejo Village 27 houses were damaged, and in Banjarum Village one place of business was damaged. "For Gunungrejo Village, one house was heavily damaged so the residents of the house fled," he said.

Meanwhile, in the area of Karangplosodilaporkan District, seven houses were damaged due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred at around 14.30 WIB. In that area, damage occurred on the roof of a house that flew by the wind. "Heavy rain accompanied by wind occurred in the Ngenep Village area, Karangploso District, resulting in seven houses being damaged on the roof," he said. His party estimates the value of the loss due to the incident reached Rp150 million in the Karangploso District area. Meanwhile, the other two sub-districts are still being counted. "There were no casualties as a result of the disaster incident," he said.
