Jambi UMP 2024 Increases By IDR 94 Thousand To IDR 3,037,121

JAMBI - Jambi Provincial Governor Al Haris officially set an increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2024 of IDR 94 thousand to IDR 3,037,121. Jambi UMP in 2023 is IDR 2,943,033.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Jambi Bahari Province Manpower and Transmigration Office. "Yesterday, the Jambi UMP in 2024 was signed by the Governor," he said in Jambi, Wednesday, November 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that there was an increase in wages by 3.2 percent. Even though the Jambi UMP in 2024 has increased, there are still some employers' associations in Jambi who refuse this.

Responding to this, Bahari said, the increase in the UMP was based on the results of a meeting between the Jambi Provincial Government, the Wage Council, employers' associations, laborers and academics on November 16, 2023 at the Jambi Provincial Manpower Office.

Just like the previous year, this year in determining the Jambi Provincial Government UMP implements the Government Regulation formulation Number 51 of 2023.

"In determining this UMP, it is guided and implements the formulation of Government Regulation Number 51 of 2023," he explained.

Furthermore, the determination of the Jambi UMP will take effect on January 1, 2024.

Previously, the Regional Secretary of Jambi Province, Sudirman, said that the decision to determine the UMP had gone through deliberation with related parties and would not undergo revisions in line with the hang formula being implemented based on Government Regulation Number 51 of 2023.

The determination of the UMP also considers various economic indicators, one of which is inflation. This shows the government's commitment to accommodating the needs of workers by considering the current and future regional economic conditions.
