President Jokowi Rejects Responding To Megawati's Annoyed Criticism With The Ruler In Acting New Order

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo refused to respond to the statement of PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who said that the current authorities acted as during the New Order era.

"I don't want to give a response," said President Jokowi on the sidelines of the Joint Tree Planting Movement in the City Forest of the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 29.

Previously, Megawati admitted that she was annoyed to see the current government, which according to her, acted like the ruler of the New Order era. She conveyed this criticism when attending the Ganjar-Mahfud Volunteer National Coordination Meeting in Jakarta, Monday (27/11).

"I shouldn't be able to talk about that, but I'm annoyed. Why? This Republic is full of sacrifices to know or not. Why now are you people who want to act on the authorities like during the New Order era?" said Megawati.

Megawati said the government should comply with the applicable laws and regulations. The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia also emphasized that he did not want the government to run against the rules.

"What is called a Government person, everyone must obey the laws in the Republic of Indonesia. It's good, who does the law really belong? You are really excited. It's stopped, Mr. who I'm sarcastic about. Insyaf, insyaf!" said Megawati, without mentioning who the person in question is.
