Russia Claims Success In Dropping 24 Drones And 2 Ukrainian Missiles In Moscow To The Azov Sea

JAKARTA - Russia's Ministry of Defense confirmed that the country's air defense system succeeded in dropping drones to missiles fired by Ukraine into a number of areas, including the Moscow capital.

The number of drones that have been successfully dropped continues to grow, with the latest Russian authorities saying four drones were successfully dropped in the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Tula regions, bringing the total number of drones that were successfully dropped until Sunday as many as 24 units.

"On November 26, at around 09:30 a.m., the Kyiv regime's efforts to carry out attacks with fixed-wing aircraft UAVs against facilities in the Russian Federation region were preventable. Air defense assets tasked with destroying four Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the Bryansk, Smlensk and Tula Regions," the Defense Ministry said., reported TASS November 26.

Previously, the ministry informed the success of the eleven destruction and then nine Ukrainian drones in the capital areas of Moscow, Tula, Kaluga and Bryansk.

"The mass drone attack was carried out overnight," Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, adding Ukraine's drone was shot down in several areas in Moscow.

In addition to drones, the ministry said Russia's air defenses shot down two Ukrainian S-200 surface-to-air missiles that had been adjusted to reach ground targets. The missiles were shot down over the Azov Sea.

Citing CNN, the attack came after Russia's largest drone strike against the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, since the onset of a massive invasion, according to local officials.

A Telegram post from the Ukrainian Air Force said it had intercepted 71 Shahed drones in six Ukrainian regions, most of which were in the Kyiv region. They described the attack as "a record number" of drone attacks.
