Ganjar Meets Father Magnis To Discuss Morals Of Small People's Voices

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo discussed the current condition of the Indonesian nation with Professor of Moral Philosophy, Father Franz Magnis Suseno or familiarly called Father Magnis at the Driyarkara Philosophy College, Jakarta.

During the meeting, Ganjar received two books by Father Magnis, entitled 'Political Ethics' and 'Iman Dalam Challenges'. Ganjar stated that the book is legendary and has been widely read by the public.

"I was given a book, thank you, Father. This is a booklegend, almost everyone reads. And I am happy to get good stories, ethical stories, moral stories in the nation, state, society," said Ganjar in his statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.

According to him, the results of the discussion need to be implemented in the life of the nation and state, including those related to statesmanship to the challenges faced by small people in voicing their opinions.

"Nationalism is important. He told the theory of representation that many small people are now a bit difficult. 'Who is my representative who should be able to voice my voice?'. It actually attracts the hearts of politicians, we-we who sit in public positions to pay more attention to them. He talks about poverty, about access to ease of well-being," he said.

Although the discussion involved national issues, Ganjar emphasized that this meeting was not a form of political support.

"He is an intellectual, as a religious figure, of course he has a personal attitude but should not take sides openly, institutionally he is neutral, so I have great respect. This (meeting) is a younger person who comes to an older person, even though his hair is the same," said Ganjar.

Meanwhile, Father Magnis prayed for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election contestation. Father Magnis asked Ganjar to remain upright in the interests of the nation and state, despite the declining democratic situation and many challenges.

"May God bless, and please keep going," said Romo.

Father Magnis revealed in their discussion that they discussed Indonesia's better future if problems such as corruption and decline in democracy can be resolved. He emphasized the need to return to integrity and honesty as the basis for building the nation.

"We must overcome the problems that are now being felt, problems such as corruption, the problem of decline in democracy. We must return to the integrity of honesty," he concluded.
