Firli Bahuri Becomes SYL Extortion Suspect, DKI Prosecutor's Office Prepares 4 Research Prosecutors

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has prepared four research prosecutors to examine the completeness of the case file for the alleged extortion of the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, with the suspect KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

Dalam perkembangan penanganan kasus itu, Polda Metro Jaya masih melengkapi berkas perkara usai penetapan tersangka.

"Kejati DKi has prepared four research prosecutors related to the SPDP for alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture SYL," said Head of the Information and Law Section of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, Ade Sofyan when confirmed, Thursday, November 23.

Firli Bahuri was officially named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22, afternoon.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri said that the determination of the suspect against Firli Bahuri was sufficient evidence.

"A case title has been carried out with results, the discovery of sufficient evidence to determine FB's brother as chairman of the KPK RI as a suspect," said Ade.

Meanwhile, several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion.

Then, Syahrul Yasin Limpo's clothes. The clothes were worn by the former Minister of Agriculture when he met Firli Bahuri at the Badminton Sports Center (GOR) on March 2, 2022.

In this case, Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
