JAKARTA - Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) Komjen Fadil Imran asked to speak (jubir) for the National Winning Team (TPN) for presidential and vice president candidates Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Aiman Witjaksono, to open a police identity which he called a neutral tent in the 2024 General Election.

Fadil conveyed that the alleged case of spreading false news involving Aiman as the reported party was being investigated by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Because there are reports, investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police will carry out clarifications," said Fadil at a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, November 15.

If criminal elements are found later, then the legal process will be carried out. On the other hand, Aiman's statement about the neutrality of members of the National Police supports one candidate as a democracy in expressing opinions.

For proof, Aiman was asked to convey the identity of a member of the National Police who he said was not neutral.

"Is it true that there are commanders who order their subordinates to side with certain candidates? Or certain parties? Or certain presidential candidates?" he said.

"Is it really like that? Who? He said a lot, later we will clarify. So don't be afraid, Aiman just comes, who is it? Open (the identity of the police), don't just dare to talk but don't dare take responsibility," continued Fadil.

The three-star general also asked Aiman not to build a narrative that could disturb the public.

"Because don't build a narrative which then results in the disruption of the public's awareness," said Fadil.

Polda Metro Jaya has received six police reports (LP) regarding Aiman Witjaksono's statement.

All of them are related to Article 28 (2) in conjunction with Article 45 A paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and/or Article 14 and/or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
