There Are 5 Cases Of Monkeypox In West Java

BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Kalioni Machmudin said that until now there have been five cases of monkeypox or monkeypox in West Java with the first case being in Bandung City.

Bey Sapi Machmudin said that the first case that occurred in the city of Bandung had been treated at Hasan Sadikin Hospital and had now recovered, but now the case has increased again so that the total is five cases.

"There are five monkeypox in West Java, one is being treated at RSHS and has been discharged. Then from Cirebon Regency, Cirebon City, Depok City, Bekasi City, so there are still four who are still sick," Bey said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.

With this increase, Bey said that his party had not implemented high preparedness such as COVID-19 to deal with monkeypox, but asked the public to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle as the main key to prevention.

Bey ensured that all hospitals in West Java were ready to accept monkeypox patients, and all those infected had received intensive care at the hospital.

"The important thing is that all hospitals are ready and must not refuse monkeypox patients," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Java Health Service Vini Adiani Dewi said, of the total positive cases of monkeypox, one resident of Bandung City who underwent treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital was declared cured and has returned home.

Vini said that regarding one patient from Karawang Regency who had been treated in Jakarta, he was not registered at the West Java Health Office, because the patient had settled and worked in Jakarta and has now recovered.

According to Vini, the increase in cases of monkeypox has been anticipated by alerting all health facilities ranging from health centers to hospitals in West Java, then preventing the spread by tracing close contacts of positive patients.

Vini said that the transmission of monkeypox is very vulnerable through sexual intercourse with or with people who have low body immunity, so maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the key to preventing the disease.
