Police Arrest 3 Teenagers Who Went Viral About To Stab Security

JAKARTA - Police arrested three teenagers who went viral for carrying sharp weapons (sajam) for a student brawl.

In fact, they had tried to slash the local security officers who were trying to disperse.

In the video footage circulating, a group of students can be seen brandishing a knife around Citra Housing, Pegadungan, Kalideres, West Jakarta.

At the beginning of the video recording, several students were seen riding motorbikes together. They carry sharp weapons such as sickles to machetes.

Then, the security officers tried to reprimand and disperse the student. However, one of the students threatened to hurt as if he was going to injure the sickle he was carrying.

"We have secured three students and we have named them as suspects," said West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Kompol Andri Kurniawan in his statement, Saturday, November 11.

One student who was named a suspect, namely the initials DA (16). He was caught carrying a sharp weapon.

"We are snared by this DA under Article 2 of the Emergency Law number 12 of 1951 regarding sharp weapons," he said.

The police also confiscated evidence from the arrest, namely four sickles and a golf club.
