KPK Seizes Black-Lacquered Toyota Alphard Allegedly Used as a Bribe for Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a black-colored Toyota Alphard allegedly given by Alvonsus Gani, President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (MSI) as a vendor of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (AMGM) to West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said this search was related to allegations of conflicts of interest in the procurement of goods and services; bribes related to the procurement of goods and services; and other receipts or gratuities in the environment of the West Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab), West Nusa Tenggara Province. This case originated from a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) earlier this week.

"One of the seizures in this activity is 1 unit of Toyota Alphard car which is suspected to have been received by the Regent of LAZ from ALG as a private party related to projects at PT AMGM," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, July 23.

Budi said that the search for additional evidence to complete the files of the suspects in this case continues. "Later we will update the development," he said.

"The search by investigators was carried out to find additional evidence after the KPK named the parties as suspects in this case."

As previously reported, the KPK named West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini as a suspect after being caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, July 20. He was appointed along with two private parties, namely Sudirman as President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (AMGM) and Alvonsus Gani as President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (MSI).

In the conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services, Lalu Ahmad Zaini allegedly received money up to Rp. 10.8 billion. The receipt was made after he ordered Lalu Ratnawi as Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Residential Area Planning (PUPRPKP) Lombok Barat to help Sudirman win a tender worth Rp. 17.9 billion.

Meanwhile, regarding bribes, Lalu Ahmad Zaini allegedly received money, goods, or facilities from Alvonsus. The receipt was made after PT MSI as a vendor of PT AMGM received a number of projects related to clean water management in West Lombok Regency worth Rp. 27.1 billion.

The details of the income made by Lalu Ahmad Zaini are 1 unit of Toyota Alphard car worth Rp1.2 billion; 1 pair of Hermes shoes worth Rp19 million; LOP-JKT travel accommodation because he often travels Lombok-Jakarta PP); cash at least worth Rp380 million; one unit of Iphone 17 Pro mobile phone worth Rp26 million and one cow sacrifice worth Rp17 million.

Next, the KPK also suspects that there are other receipts made by Lalu Ahmad Zaini. One of them, allegedly there was a request for money collection before Eid until Rp. 500 million-Rp. 750 million and a fee request from the PU Service in 2025.

Most of the money was used to purchase assets in the form of land. Then there was Rp. 2.25 billion also placed at the Sisa Sentra Medika Hospital with the modus of buying shares or operational money.

As a result of his actions, the KPK ensnared Lalu Ahmad and Sudirman with Article 12 letter i and Article 12 letter or letter b and/or Article 12B of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 20 letter c in conjunction with Article 21 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, Alvonsus was charged with Article 605 or Article 606 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with the Criminal Adjustment Law.
