Coldplay Concert Organizers in Jakarta Receive Strong Warning Regarding LGBT Campaign Indications

JAKARTA - The Coldplay concert which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Central Jakarta on Wednesday, November 15, continues to be controversial. This issue has even reached the desk of the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), AA La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.

La Nyalla, which has received audiences and reports from the National Anti-LGBT Movement (Granati LGBT) and a number of Islamic activists and mass organizations, also responded to the Coldplay concert.

Spokesperson for Granati LGBT, Novel Bamukmin, said that the Chairman of the DPD RI also responded positively to their attitude regarding the rejection of the Coldplay concert.

"As for what Mr. La Nyalla said, he will firmly warn and summon related elements such as the National Police Headquarters, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Affairs as well as the organizers (of the Coldplay concert) to cancel the Coldplay concert which will supposedly campaign for LGBT," said Novel to VOI, Friday , November 10.

Support for the cancellation of the Coldplay concert, he continued, was because Coldplay's concert indicated that the LGBT campaign was clearly in conflict with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as well as the Republic of Indonesia and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

"It is also contrary to the existing constitution," he said.

Novel stated that his party had never banned any music concert as long as it did not campaign for LGBT.

"We convey and make things clear, we have never banned any music concert so far. During the music concert there was no campaign that was contrary to the values ​​of Pancasila. More specifically, it was against the teachings of Islam," he said.

Previously it was reported that the National Anti-LGBT Movement (Granati LGBT) had held a hearing to reject Coldplay's concert plans with the Chairman of the DPD RI, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, last Thursday, November 9.

Granati LGBT believes that the music group will fill its performances with campaigns to support LGBT.
