JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo denied that elections in Indonesia are easy to intervene or get intervention from other parties. President Jokowi explained that polling stations (TPS) in Indonesia even reached 840 thousand spread from Aceh to Papua and were monitored by many witnesses. "Many said that our election is easily intervened. Where did the intervention come from? In each polling station there are parties witnesses. All TPS there are witnesses from parties, not yet officers who are also near the TPS," said President Jokowi when opening the National Coordination Meeting for Election Organizers in 2023 quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 8. The president explained that with the many witnesses of each party at TPS-TPS signaled that the elections in Indonesia could be very open because they could be monitored by anyone, the media to other parties. "So don't try to intervene, because it is clearly very difficult, because at the TPS I conveyed there were witnesses... witnesses... witnesses from political parties," said Jokowi. The Head of State said that the 2024 election was the biggest democratic party ever held with the spread of 840 thousand TPS from Aceh to Papua. The challenge to carry out the 2024 election is also large because it not only ensures the governance of accountable and integrity elections, but also the distribution mechanism and security mechanisms can be carried out. Therefore, the President asked DKPP, KPU, Bawaslu to the regional inspection team to dare to control firmly, supervise and straighten out if there are things that could potentially disrupt the course of the democratic process.

In addition, the President also asked DKPP to innovate and listen to people's voices so that political temperatures remain conducive, safe and peaceful. "I ask all of us to prepare everything in detail, must be checked, must be monitored, must go to the field to see. If you can use the latest technology because the budget has gone up 200 percent for DKPP," said Jokowi.
